Edition HistoryEdit Kashgar Highway

Kashigar highway is accessible from all directions connecting 12 counties (cities). It leads to Ke Prefecture, Aksu, Kurle, and Turfan in the northeast and to Urumqi in the north. Highway in Kashi also links Shule、Yingjisha、Shache、Zepu、Yecheng、Hetian in the southeast, going eastward getting to Dunhuang Grottos in Gansu and Geermu in Qinghai. Crossing Yecheng, it connects Ali area in Tibet in the south. South to Kashi lies international highway from China to Pakistan while north and west to Kashi are two highways crossing Tuergat port leading to Community of Independent States. Take regular bus at 5 pm from Urumqi, you can get to Kashi at noon the third day.

Tips:

Except in Kashgar, the regular run number of buses or Flights is limited. You can rent automobiles or ask passing drivers for a drive but you should be careful in the later case. If going to Tash Kurghan and Hongqilapu Port, please get the introduction letter from your unit in advance (if without it forward, ask local travel agency to provide it which will cost ten yuan) and meanwhile you should handle border defense certificate in local police station on Seman Road in Kashi (having arrived at Tash Kurghan you need to handle another a frontier passing certificate to enter this place)
