When Yizhou music has been passed on for thousands of years, it constantly absorbed new folk musical elements and developed into today’s Hami Mukamu. The Twelve Mukamu of Hami is considered as one of the Twelve Mukamu of Xinjiang that is the ancient headspring and original body. Hami Mukamu is made up of two parts. One is the prelude; the other is the song (song-dance music). Hami Mukamu is a set of folk music on the large scale.
