Qianqian rice (copper coin rice)

Last updated by chinatravel at 2014/11/14

Qianqian rice is a delicacy made out of coarse food grain. Soak the black beans until they swell, then crush them to pieces on the roller, which look like copper coins, hence “Qianqian rice” (copper coin rice). Mix 20% bean-coins and 80% rice together and cook it when half done, add millet into it. Qianqian rice can keep oneself warm and feel all comfortable. It’s said that Diaochan (a famous ancient beauty) was so charming all because she often ate Qianqian rice. This food could be eaten all the ear round and customers may eat it at snack bars and night market for 0.5 Yuan a bowl.
