Rolling lanterns are famous in the Hejin area and people perform it around Lantern Festival. Rolling lanterns were invented according to the principles of windmill in the year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty. At the very beginning, there are only one or two lights on the lantern frame, as time goes by, there are several, even dozens of lanterns on the frame. The lantern frame is made of bamboo or wood and lanterns are made of paper. When the rolling lantern moves, hundreds of people perform around it. The lively and animated scene impresses people deeply.
