Guangtong-Dali Railway is connected with Chengdu - Kunming Railway at Guangtong Railway Station. It was completed in 1999, and stretches via Lufeng County, Chuxiong City, Nanhua County, Yaoan County, Xian gyun County, Midu County, and ends in Dali City, capital of the Autonomous Region of Dali for Bai people which is a strategic region in western Yunnan .

The construction of the railway from Dali to Lijiang has already begun. The newly built Dali Railway Station is the only railway station in Dali.

Tips:

1. You can go by the through Train from Kunming to Dali. There are one train every morning and three every evening. The travel will take you about 8 hours. You can take Bus No.8 near Xiaguan Railway Station of Dali and it will take you straight to the Ancient City of Dali.

2. There are also one train from Dali to Kunming in the morning, and three in the evening. Train tickets are available in the hall of the guest house of Troop No. 35108 on Jianshe Road (near Guanping Street). The opening time is 9:30-17:30

3. Train tickets to the other places in Yunnan Province are available in the ticket office, Jianshe Road No.21. The opening time is 9:00-18:00.
