Mu's Residence is located in the southwest of Lijiang ancient city. In the Ming Dynasty, the buildings there were spectacular, making Xu Xiake gasping with admiration. Pitifully, most of the buildings were destroyed during the wars in the late Qing Dynasty. After the earthquake in 1996, it was lucky to gain attention from the World Bank. They spent a great amount of money in rebuilding Mu's Residence. Designed and constructed carefully by numbers of artisans for three years, it finally regained its charm.
The opening spirit of learning from others is fully reflected in Mu's Residence. It can be regarded as an art, which mirrors the features of the buildings in Ming, Tang and Sung Dynasties. At the same time, you can feel the traditional spirit of Naxi nationality by seeing the water running in it along with old and precious trees and flowers gathering there.
All of those make it a place with the natural beauty and royal magnificence.
