National Minorities Park

The National Minorities Park (Minzu Fengqingyuan) is located near to the pretty Liusha River, 1 kilometer from Jinghong. Occupying an area of 20.8 hectares, land covers 53.4 thousand kilometers with the remaining 13.3 thousand kilometers covered by water.

The National Minorities Park which is divided into the Northern Park and the Southern Park is a national place of interest and scenic resort as well as a tourism host organization. The park is host to many  luxuriant tropical trees and plants. Six minority group custom exhibition halls are set up there. All these are mysterious and beautiful Xishuangbanna in miniature.

The Northen Park

The Northern Park consists of the National Custom Show and National Amusement Activities. The National Custom Show is made up of Dai Nationality Hall, the Hani Nationality Hall, the Yao Nationality Hall, Jinuo Nationality Hall. National Amusement Activities consist of a fairground, Water-Sprinkling, cockfighting, dragon boat race, bamboo raft race and so on. There are four performance stadiums. Each Wednesday and Saturday evening (and during the holiday season), the park hosts colorful minority performances of national dances and songs.

The Southern Park

In the Southern Park there are three scenic spots, they are The Tropical Fruits Zone, Plant Specimen Zone and Beach Sunbath and Swimming Zone.  Trees of mango, leechee, pomelo, carambola, pineapple, and coconut palm are planted as well as palm and areca. When the leechee and mango ripen, the park sets up an orchard where visitors can handpick fruit to experience the big harvest. In addition, there is an elephant house, peacock house, bird house, and reptile house.
