Napahai Lake is also a place with beautiful scenery. In fact, it is a lake not a sea. Napahai means in Tibetan a lake behind the forest. Covering a total area of 66kilometers, Napahai Lake is 3270 meters above the sea level. It's a seasonal lake surrounded by mountains on three sides covered in snow during winter and spring time. Scenery is quite different in four seasons.

In spring, it is a prairie, a carpet with flowers, marshland and highland barley; In winter, the prairie changes into a golden color and rare birds such as black-necked crane and bar-headed goose flock to the area for winter. Napahai Lake Nature Reserve is a home for black-necked crane, Class-A animals under state protection. Besides, It can be seen as the paradise of water birds, there are many animals under provincial protection such as spot - headed wild geese, yellow geese, gray crane and water birds.
