Zhangjiajie food integrates the features of Hunan Cuisine and Tujia ethnic food. Zhangjiajie people have a spicy tooth. Besides they are fond of preserved meat, pickled food and sour flavor. The representative dishes include Tuannian Dish, Blooded Tofu, Sour Fish, and Gastrodia Tuber with Black-boned Chicken Soup and She Meal.
Zhangjiajie Featured Food:
It is a traditional Tujia ethnic food made from tofu, pig blood, pork, hot pepper and other seasons. It is in egg-shape and fumed by burning woods on bamboo-made griddle until it becomes coffee. It is tasted gamey, chewy and fragrant. Tujia ethnic people often eat it while drinking alcohol.
