Wanlong Ski Resort

Covering an area of more than 30 square kilometers, Wanlong Ski Resort is located in Honghualiang, Chongli County, Zhangjiakou city of Hebei Province, with the highest altitude of 2110.3 meters and the average height of 550 meters. It is 249 kilometers away from Beijing and 50 kilometers away from Zhangjiakou city.

Over 1 million Yuan is planned to be invested in the expansion of the ski resort intended to build it as the largest ski resort in China.

Wanlong Ski Resort is the earliest one to open to skiers each year due to the advantaged geography location in high mountains, which trends to be influenced by cold air from Siberia. In each September, temperature plummet to below zero Wanlong Ski Resort has brought in large- scale snowmaking system from abroad(Currently there e are 13 snowmaking machines, and the snow making pipelines are arranged on the both sides of ski runs) Snowmaking machines will be applied to produce snow when the natural snow is not enough for skiers to make fun.

There are now 5 trails(one for beginners and the other four for medium and skilled skiers). which cover a skiing field of 200,000 square meters. Ski trails total more than 9 kilometers long (the Jinlong ski run is 1800 meters long; the Yinlong ski run is 2000 meters long; Yulong ski run is 2500 meters long; Xiaolong ski run is 800 meters long; and junior ski run is 350 meters long.) The ski resort is equipped with 1600 latest imported CARVING skiing board. 3 ropeways with double chairs, 13 snowmakers from Canada and Japan, 4 snow pressers, and 50 snow flying disks.

In 2003, Wanlong Ski Resort suceessfully held the "Third China Congli International Skiing Festival" under the theme of "Diamond Feeling". On December 18th, 2004, .the "Global Mobile Communications·The Fourth Chongli Skiing Festival of China" was held in Wanlong Ski Resort. Other event taking place in Wanlong Ski Resort includes the eighth Station of National Alpine Skiing Championships on February 20th in 2005. Wanglong Ski Resort was designated as training base of Heilongjiang Skiing Team, Salomon Youth Skiing Team, Korean and Japanese professional skiing teams.

By now, Wanglong Ski Resort is the biggest Ski Resort, equipped with best facilities in north china.

How to get there:

From Beijing to Wanlong Ski Resort:
1. Take a bus  at Yongding Gate or at Xizhi Gate Bus Station to Zhangjia Kou and then take another bus to Chongli Town.  A taxi ride will take from the town to the ski resort for around 10 yuan.
2. Beijiao Long Distance Bus Station has daily bus to Chongji Town( departs at 7.30 am)
3. Take a train at Beijing South Railway Station to Zhangjiakou.
