Medulla Junci, Zhaotong

Medulla Junci, also named Hill Herb or Sedge Herb in local areas, is a kind of perennial herbaceous plant with tufted stems. The stems are round and as long as several meters, and have brown scale-shaped leaves growing underside. In summer, pedicels appear 10 centimeters away from the tips of stems and on the pedicels are many small pea green flowers. Medulla Junci grows mostly in wet rock cracks along rivers and in the valleys in Qiaojia, Yongshan, Daguan and Yiliang.
