Hangzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), located near the beautiful West Lake, was founded in May 1952 and is one of the first hospitals set up after the foundation of People’s Republic of China.

During the past 50 years of development, Hangzhou Hospital of TCM, on the basis of consistently carrying on the traditional Chinese medicine and by combining it with modern medicine, has established various key treatment and research centers. As a comprehensive Chinese hospital, providing medical treatment, rehabilitation, health care, scientific research and education, it is a designated hospital for foreign patients, running TCM courses for overseas students, and one of the popular tourism spots for overseas tourists in Hangzhou. It has received more than 10000 foreign visitors so far. In the past ten years it has attracted more than 1000 overseas students for clinical studies in the departments of Acupuncture, Massage, TCM Internal Medicine, TCM Gynaecology, Dermatology, Traumatology and Paediatrics.
