Zhuzhou is the traffic hinge in the southern side of Yangtze River in China. The traffic on land is very convenient, for Jingguang railway line (from Beijing to Guangzhou), Zhegan railway line (from Zhejiang province to Jiangxi Province) and Xiangqin railway line meet one another here. 107 national road, 320 national road and Jingzhu freeway (from Beijing to Zhuhai) all go through the city, which shorten the time into only 50 minutes from Zhuzhou city to Changsha Huanghua International Airport. And the water carriage is also very convenient. Xiangjiang River goes by the city and kiloton shipping can navigate to Yangtze river ports though Dongting Lake. And Lushui River, Mishui River and Youshui River are all open to navigation.

The new built Zhuzhou railway station is one of the five national special class freight railways. Every day it meets and sends out a average of 221 freight and passenger trains in a frequency of one train per 605 minutes, with a passenger flux of more than 30,000 per day. The new built Zhuzhou North Railway Station has to organize and dispel more than 10,000 trains every day, which makes it the biggest modern railway station to organize and dispel train in the south of Yangtze River where there are more than 5000 freight transfer stations.

The South Bus Station is located in the downtown of Zhuzhou City, and it is very close to Lusong Clothes Market. It mainly sends out long-distance buses to inner and outer Hunan province.

The Long-distance Bus Station is located at No.28, Xinhua Xi Lu Road (150 m long to the east of Hongwei Bridge), it runs for more than 40 years. It sends out 184 buses every day mainly to outer -Hunan places such as Qinjiang, Sichuan Province, Ganzhou, Jiangxi Province and inner-    Hunan places such as Xiangtan, Changsha , Hengyang, Xiangxiang and Yiyang.

Zhuzhou Central Bus Station is located at Diamond Crossing of Xinhua Xi Lu. It mainly sends out buses every 20 minutes to various counties and cities in Zhuzhou area such as Zhuzhou County, Liling County, You County, Chaling County, and Yanling County and the like.

Besides public buses, there are motorbikes and tricycles to take everywhere, no matter whether you are at the station or any clear place, you can find such kind of transportation. Although they can pollute air, people think it convenient and cheap to take such transportation as motorbikes and tricycles, and the price depends on the distance, the lowest price is 2 yuan. By the way, you can bargain with the drivers.
