Boshan Colored Glaze Ware

Last updated by chinatravel at 2014/5/13

Traditionally, when slaves in West Zhou Dynasty (around1100BC-771BC) were making copper, they found a kind of sparkling object that became brittle and hard after cooling, as it appeared bizarre and fantastic, people called it “colored glaze”. The glaze colored ball was made at the end of Qing dynasty (1616AD-1911AD). Make such models as leaves, petals, fish, and insects with melted colored glaze, prepare the fundamental materials, inlay the models, wrap with soften crystal, shape according to the demands, finally polish and cool, then you will get the end products. The themes of Boshan colored glaze engraving are mainly landscape, flowers and plants, characters, birds and animals, the products include bowls, trays, bottles, small cups. You can feel the sense of jade because of the sparkling and crystal-clear glassware.
