Chengde Attractions

The little Town Chengde gained prominence in the Qing Dynasty when the Emperors built a large palace complex where they spent the summer months. The best attraction here is the Imperial Summer Villa which can rival the Summer Palace and Forbidden City in size and splendor. Other sights include architecture featuring Eight Outer Temples and the Temple of Universal Peace (Puning si)
