Chengdu Transport

As the largest transportation hub in Southwest China, Chengdu is the starting point of Chengdu -Chongqing Railway, Baoji -Chengdu and Chengdu -Dujiangyang Railway, where there are direct trains to the major provincial cities of China. There are three railway stations in Chengdu, Chengdu North Railway Station, Chengdu South Railway Station and Chengdu East Railway Station.

Chengdu North Railway Station

The trains from Chengdu North Railway Station mainly leave for the major cities of China, include Guangzhou, Wuhan, Shenzhen, Beijing, Harbin, Zhengzhou, Xian, Foshan, Maoming, Guigang, Liuzhou, Guiyang, Yizhou, Zhaoqing, Anshun, Ziyang, Neijiang, Zhaotong, Liupanshui. In addition, the sightseeing trains to Dujiangyan and Qingcheng Mountain are also available in Chengdu North Railway Station.

1. The free electronic luggage locker service is available in the ticket hall of the station.
2. The Red Hat Luggage Service is available in the station, which help passengers to carry luggages 10 minutes before the trains start, and the service fee is 10 RMB for the small luggage and 20 RMB for the big one.
3. The green passages are available for the disabled in the station.

Chengdu South Railway Station

With 24 kilometers (15 miles) from Chengdu North Railway Station and 1,076 kilometers (669 miles) from Kunming, Chengdu South Railway Station is a comprehensive transportation hub with buses, taxis and subways combined perfectly as one, from which the trains are mainly bound for Guangzhou, Beijing, Yantai, Shangahi, Fuzhou, Xian, Lidui Park, Bazhong, Puxiong, Yingshan, Nanchong, Qingcheng Mountain, Qingdao, Dazhou, Hohhot and Mianyang. The subway lines 1 and 7 can take you to Chengdu city center from the station.

Chengdu East Railway Station

Chengdu East Railway Station neighbors Yidu Avenue in the east, the Third Ring Road in the west and Yinghui Road in the north. There are not only high-speed trains to Chongqing and Dazhou in Chengdu East Railway Station, but the ordinary express trains to Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Changsha, Nanjing, Zhengzhou, Guilin, Nanchang and Guilyang are also available here.

1.Tourists can also book train tickets at the air ticket offices scattering around the city or through a travel agency.  A service fee of 5-50 Yuan will be charged.
2. Sichuan is the largest migrant workers export province in China. Everything year after the Chinese New Year, huge numbers of peasants will board trains to go to the east coastal areas to work so it usually impossible to obtain a train ticket from Chengdu to the eastern areas during this time of the year.
