What You Can Expect
Jinshanling Great Wall
7:00 - 9:45 Go to the Great Wall
Your journey begins with a convenient pickup at your hotel lobby at around 7:00 am. Then we will transfer you westwards to Simatai. We will arrive at Simatai at about 9:45.
9:45 - 13:00 Hiking from Simatai to Jinshanling
This hiking starts at Simatai West (Houchuankou Pass) and proceeds westward to Jinshanling (Zhuanduokou Pass). Simatai is a perfect place to hike as it is away from crowds and on a rugged section. We provide hiking poles for our customers.
You will stand on the Great Wall to view significant scenery. Jinshanling is famous as one of the most photogenic sections of the Great Wall. So it is definitely a fantastic place to take photos.
13:45 - 14:30 Lunch
The hiking takes about 3 hours. Start your lunch at around 1:45pm in a local farmer's restaurant. The restaurant is at the entrance to Jinshanling, and offer traditional dishes made with fresh vegetables and meat, like fried tomato with egg; roasted eggplant with potatoes and peppers and stir-fried bok choy.
14:30 - 17:00 Back to hotel
After the lunch, enjoy the scenic ride when heading back to Beijing. We will transfer you back to your Beijing hotel.
Good to Know
This tour is available every Monday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
Extra cost maybe applied if your hotel is outside of Beijing center area or you need a transfer from/to the airport/train station.
Your English speaking guide will contact you the night before your tour date to appoint the exact pick-up time with you and pick you up in your hotel lobby at the appointed time.
It is recommended to wear hiking shoes.
