Guilin scenery is considered unique. It features extraordinarily-shaped rocks, towering hills and stalactite and stalemate caves.
This 3-day Guilin tour package introduces you to the essence of Guilin.
All of Guilin's must-dos
Free time for your own exploration; your guide will give you suggestions
Amaze by locals storage rice wine in cave at the foot of Elephant Hill
Welcome to Guilin. You will arrive at Guilin International Airport, where your guide will be waiting for you at the arrivals hall holding your name sign. It will be easy to find him or her standing there as you exit.
Hop-on your private van/bus which will take you to your hotel. Your guide will help you check-in and show you good places for walking around nearby.
Good to Know:
1. There are many flights to Guilin from Beijing, Shanghai, Xi'an, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Hangzhou and other cities, or bullet trains from major Chinese cities. Flight or train costs are not included in this tour.
2．Guilin is quite safe with relatively little crime. Nevertheless, like tourists anywhere in the world, you should take precautions and use common sense, particularly in tourist areas and in crowded places like markets.
Elephant Trunk Hill, Reed Flute Cave, Yao Mountain with roundway chair lift service
Start your tour after breakfast. First go to Elephant Trunk Hill, the iconic site which is a natural limestone creation with a small cave. The hill itself is steep and squat. You can climb up for a view or just walk around.
Then visit Yao Mountain, the highest mountain in Guilin, about 8 km from Guilin. Take a chair-lift to the top to admire the view of karst-mountains around.
Back in Guilin, we arrange lunch in a local restaurant, McFound’s, which serves authentic Chinese food good for treating family and friends.
After lunch, we head to Reed Flute Cave. The cave is brilliantly lit by colored lights. It is about 500 meters in length and in some places up to 10 meters high. The multimedia show is definitely worth seeing.
On the way back to your hotel, your guide will arrange a visit to a local farmers’ market, where you can observe locals going about their daily lives. See a whole variety of fresh goods for sale, with some interesting ingredients you may never have seen in your country.
Good to Know:
1． Low clouds and mists make for mysterious views of the Yao Mountain. For safety reasons, the trip will be canceled or delayed if it rains heavily.
2． The cave inside is a bit slippery and drips water on rainy days. There are some gentle steps in the cave.
Left Bund, Li River Cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo, Hotel to airport Transfer (Guilin), West Street of Yangshuo
Check out of your hotel in the morning before 8 am, and meet your guide at 8. Transfer to Zhujiang or Mopanshan Wharf (depending on the type of ship), to board the boat for your Li River cruise all the way to Yangshuo.
The cruise takes 4-5 hours. You’ll marvel at the towering peaks, the river, greenery, and primeval nature, like a Chinese landscape painting. You’ll also have a chance to catch a glimpse of what life is like living along the banks.
Arrive in Yangshuo at around 1:30-2:00 pm. If time permits, your guide will show you around West Street after disembarking. The street is a landmark of Yangshuo. It is known as a global street, since there are many shops, inns and restaurants there, attracting people from all around the world.
If time is tight, we’ll just transfer directly to the airport or train station from Yangshuo after disembarking from the boat.
Good to Know:
1. A simple lunch box is provided on the boat. It is fairly average, probably not as good as in a restaurant.
2. It takes an hour and 30 minutes to drive from Yangshuo to Guilin.
3. Extra day: If you want to see more of Yangshuo and can stay overnight, leaving the next day, ask your travel consultant to arrange it. Optional ideas: cycle in the idyllic Yangshuo countryside, Chinese cooking class, Impression Light Show at night, taichi or kongfu classes.
