With its roof covered in glizty bronze tiles, Jokhang Temple became UNESCO's World Heritage listed site in 2000. Running through the center of the old city, Barkhor Street is an old yet vibrant commercial complex. Here you can shop or just simply browse. Our tour guide will take you to a Thangka workshop, where you can witness the whole painting process of a Thangka.
After lunch, you will spend most of the afternoon at a local Tibetan house.

Potala Palace, Drepung Monastery, Norbulingka
The Potala Palace, the winter palace for Dalai Lama ever since the 7th century, is considered as the best model for traditional Tibetan architecture. Known as the Summer Palace of Tibet, Norbulingka is actually a complex of three palaces: Galsang Phodrang Palace, the Gyianse Phodrang Palace, and the Daain Myingquelin Phodrang Palace. After these two royal sites, we will get to Drepung Monastery.
