Shanghai Arrival

Airport Transfer (Shanghai)

Today your international flight will land in Shanghai. Our Shanghai tour guide will escort you to hotel for check-in.

  • Get to know Shanghai by a free stroll at People's Square.

    Shanghai

    Yuyuan Garden, Shanghai Museum((Audio Guide included)), The Bund, French concession region, Tianzi Fang

    The Bund is Shanghai's landmark, and also our first stop for today. Later, learn about Shanghai's history at Shanghai Museum. Have lunch and stop by a silk store.

    In the afternoon, we will get to the Former French Concession and walk into the interesting complex of Tianzifang.

  • You will fly to Chongqing and start a 3-day cruise on Yangtze River tomorrow. Although all meals included on cruise, we suggest you bring some snacks and fruits with you.
  • Book a night show of ERA Time Acrobatic Show and you are in for a wonderful eye treat.

    Shanghai to Chongqing to Yangtze

    Hotel to airport Transfer (Shanghai), Airport Transfer (Chongqing), Panda Room in Chongqing Zoo, Ciqikou Old Town, Cruise pier Transfer (Chongqing), Board the ship between 19:00 and 22:00, and depart from Chongqing at 22:00. (Dinner is not included on the first evening.)

    Today, a flight will take you to Chongqing.

    Upon arrival, your Chongqing tour guide will take you to visit the giant pandas at Chongqing Zoo. Chongqing's Ciqikou Old Town is also an interesting place to kill some time. After dinner on your own, your Chongqing tour guide will transfer you to the pier. Board on Yangtze River Cruise and enjoy your first night!

    Yangtze

    Program: learn traditional Chinese tai chi, Optional tour to Fengdu Ghost City(RMB 290 per person)., shore excursion to Shibaozhai in the afternoon, and in the evening the cruise welcome party

    --Shibaozhai, literally means Stone Treasure Fortress, Located in Zhong County, it was first built in Qing Dynasty in 1750. Shibaozhai is one historic site that will look much different in 2009. The wooden architecture stands on the riverside. It is built by catch upon a rectangular rock with sheer cliffs with a height of 56 meters and 12 stories. And every floor of the wooden structure contains interesting artifacts. Each of the 12 floors of Shibaozhai is dedicated to a famous general of the Three Kingdoms period (220-265AD), a local scholar or a renowned Chinese poet.

    Yangtze

    Taichi exercise.
    Passes through the 1st gorge--Qutang Gorge.
    Passes through the 2cd gorge---Wu Gorge.
    Shore excursion to Shennong Stream(1:30pm-5:30pm) to see hanging coffins, local Tujia minority houses and their custom.. You have the option of visiting White Emperor City(RMB290 per person).
    Crew's Performance.

    --Shennong Stream is another tributary of the Yangtze River, and its fast-flowing, crystal clear water runs southwards through deep gorges. The stream races past large and small karst caves, flocks of swallows, sheer cliffs, deep gorges, waterfalls, three-colored springs, rapids, the ancient plank path, a suspended coffin in the cliff, groups of ancient tombs and marvelous karst formations.
    Stop at Badong Pier, embark on a smaller sightseeing boat and sailing further down through Shennong Stream to see steep gorges in the valley, mysterious hanging coffins, and the most highlights part is that you can see the local Tujia minority houses and their custom. Then back to the ship after tour.

    YichangYichang to Beijing

    Cruise pier Transfer (Yichang), Airport Transfer (Yichang), Airport Transfer (Beijing), Program: Disembarking at Maoping pier of Yichang&Shore excursion---Three Gorges Dam Site,take bus to Yichang, arrive in Yichang at 12:30pm.

    --Shore excursion to The Three Gorges Dam Site. Arrive in Yichang at 1:00pm.
    Three Gorges Dam, the largest water conservancy project ever undertaken by man and it has been a dream for several generations of Chinese people. The construction of the dam formally began in 1994. The body of the dam was completed in 2003, and the whole construction has been completed in 2009. It will be 2,335 meters long, 185 meters high, 18 meters wide on the top and 130 meters wide at the bottom.The tourists can get access to the top of the dam and enjoy different kinds of photo opportunities.

    Beijing

    Tiananmen Square, The Forbidden City, Hutong Tour by Rickshaw in Xicheng District

    A fresh coffee kicks a good start for your morning.

    Today you will firstly visit Tian'anmen Square and then the Forbidden City.

    Get on a rickshaw and the rider will take you into Beijing's beating heart: Hutong. Following up is some quality time with a local family in the Hutong.

    Today you will also have a chance to learn how to spot fake pearls at a time-honored pearl store.

     

    - Smart Tips:

  • The Corner Tower of the Forbidden City is always a favorite spot for photographers. Spend some time there if the time allows.
  • Today's tour ends up at the Hutong area near Houhai, where you can find a decent place to kick back and enjoy a brisk Beijing night.
  • It takes some nerve to dance in public. But moves don't matter if you got the passion - at least it's so for Chinese dance devotees. Go check out China's national hobby: Square Dance in Beijing!

    Beijing

    Temple of Heaven, The Mutianyu Great Wall(with round way cable car)

    In morning, we will first visit the holy site of Temple of Heaven, where Chinese emperors used to worship God with their sacrifices. Later, drive up to the Great Wall at Mutianyu Section, where you will take a cable car ride up the peak and walk along with your tour guide. Have lunch and we will drive back to Beijing.

    In the afternoon, we will be back to the city. Free night for you to thrill.

  • Don't leave Beijing without a bite of the legendary Peking Duck. Dine like a royalcourt member at Hua's Restaurant.
  • Tired of today's walking and photo-taking? Let's rub it away with a traditional Chinese massage. Your Beijing tour guide sure knows some decent place.
