1.When is the best visiting time to Hangzhou?

Spring (from March to May) and autumn (from September to November) are the best visiting season to Hangzhou. The climate is pleasant during these months. Go to Hangzhou in rainy periods which last from early May to the end of June and from late August to late September will have a better understanding of the beautiful water town.
It is recommended that visitors should avoid peak travel periods like National Day holiday which is from Oct. 1st to 7th and Labor Day holiday from May 1st to 3rd. During these periods, Chinese people travel around China; therefore, it is hard to get airline tickets or train tickets and scenic areas would be crowded.

2.What should I pack if I go to Hangzhou in spring?

Spring in Hangzhou is one of the best visiting seasons. It is warm and humid. One can appreciate blossom of cherry near West Lake. You should take some shirts, trousers, overcoats and an umbrella. You can buy oil-paper umbrellas in Hangzhou as souvenirs.  The scenery that ladies hold oil-paper umbrellas and wander amidst drizzly misty rain is just like a beautiful painting.

3. What should I pack if I go to Hangzhou in summer?

From June to August is the summer of Hangzhou. The highest temperature falls in August. In early summer, it rains a lot. You should bring shorts, short T-shirts, sunglasses, sun cream, sunhats and sun umbrellas and umbrellas.

Hangzhou silk is very soft. Since the Han Dynasty, it has been known by Western people through the famous silk road. Brocade is a silk fabric with patterns.
Besides, Hangzhou produces high quality fans and blood stones. There are several kinds of fans: folding fan of ink paper, sandalwood fan, carbaso fan with bamboo bone, ivory fan, feather fan, royal round fan, drama fan, dancing fan. The original place of producing blood stones is Lin’an. It is red like blood of chicken, so in Chinese, it is called Jixueshi (chicken blood stone). Blood stones are only owed by China. Therefore, it is very precious.

Dragon Well Tea of West Lake (Xihu Longjing tea) enjoys a history more than 1,200 years. Dragon Well Tea of West Lake is a kind of green tea. Picking time of Dragon Well Tea decides the quality of the tea. The tea leaves picking before the Qingming Festival are called Mianqian tea which is the best quality tea and the price is often the highest. Tea leaves picking before the Grain Rain are called Yuqian tea which is the second grade tea.

There is a bus from Aviation bus ticket office on No. 390 Stadium Road to airport every 15 to 30 minutes from 5:30 to 21:00. The bus stops at Zhongshan Hotel and Hangzhou Train Station for a while. The terminal is Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport.
Taxi: It is very convenient for visitors to take taxi in Hangzhou. It costs 120 yuan to 150 yuan to Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport from Hangzhou downtown area.

 

11.How to go to Hangzhou downtown area from Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport?

Airport bus: every 15 to 30 minutes from 5:30 to 21:00, there are airport bus from Xiaoshan International Airport to Hangzhou downtown area. The ticket price is about 20 yuan per person. The bus stops at Hangzhou Train Station and Marco Polo Hotel. The terminal is the Aviation bus ticket office on No. 390 Stadium Road.
Taxi: there are many taxis waiting at the entrance of the airport. Take taxi to Hangzhou downtown area takes 100 yuan to 150 yuan.
