Top Restaurants in Guangzhou

Last updated by meimeili at 2013/12/10; Destinations: Guangzhou

As the most economically progressive and seat of entertainment in Guangdong Province, Guangzhou has one of the highest concentrations of restaurants all over the country. However, despite the countless dining places, a handful of them truly stand out for the quality of food and service, location, happy vibe, and unique, pleasant experience.

Here are the top restaurants you can find in Guangzhou. We’ve added a short “how to get there” section to help you find it quickly. Take note that point A is pegged at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. Moreover, the entries are listed in no particular order.

Food in Guangzhou

Le Saint-Tropez French Restaurant and Bar

This is currently ranked as no.1 among the listed and reviewed restaurants in TripAdvisor. It’s a French restaurant that combines classicism with its impeccable interiors and modernism with its feel-good vibe. Especially at night, the restaurant and bar simply comes alive with some great music. For those who want something light, they can order light fare such as sandwiches and crepes. Besides these, the restaurant also serves a hearty brunch. There are different tables to choose from, from large ones for families and corner tables for couples who want to be alone. Currently, Le Saint-Tropez offers around 100 food options.

Chez Max

This is often compared with Le Saint-Tropez since both are French-inspired restaurants. Nevertheless, when it comes to a more authentic Parisian experience, Chez Max has the upper hand. For one, it has a French chef at the helm. Some of the most well-known dishes served in the restaurant are black pudding sausage, tuna tartare, and foie gras. Since it opens quite early than the other restaurants, it’s a great place to get some brunch. It also offers a wide range of imported wines that are surprisingly not too pricey.

13 Factories

It’s easy to get carried away with restaurants and food that have plenty of bells and whistles. 13 Factories, on the other hand, is almost “barebones,” a more scaled-down version of the various eating establishments in the city. Being basic, though, works to its advantage since diners are able to focus more on the food, which is usually homemade. For those who are extra conscious of the kind of food they eat, they would feel more comfortable here since the dishes are made from the freshest ingredients and, most of all, not laden by preservatives such as MSG.

Like most of the typical Chinese dishes, the prices are incredibly cheap that you can have more than 5 various menus and still afford all of them. But more than anything else, the dishes are hearty and plainly delicious.
