Recommended Time

To Visit Chengdu

The best time to visit Chengdu is the period between March to June and September to November. The weather of the city remains mild and humid all-year round but it is good to avoid the rainy season, which lasts from July to August, because there is substantial rainfall during that season.

Chengdu features four clear-cut seasons and the best periods to visit the city are:

Summer: The summer season lasts from June to September with July and August are the two hottest months. The weather remains hot during the daytime but the temperature tends to be low in early morning and evening. You should have thin summer clothes and umbrella if you visit the city this season. However, the good thing is that the giant pandas remain the most active during this season.

Autumn: The autumn starts from October and ends in November. These months are the high time to visit Chengdu because the nature turns quite beautiful during this season. The best clothes to wear this season are shirt and thin jackets and sweaters.

Winter: The winter season lasts from December to February. The days remain cloudy and overcast these months and sunshine becomes quite rare. The months are cold and damp but they are suitable for a tour because there is very little rainfall. Do not forget bringing jackets and sweaters if you visit Chengdu this season.

To Visit the Panda Keeper Program

Morning is the best time to visit the cute giant pandas. They remain the most active during the period between 8:30 to 10:00 in the morning. After that, they usually indulge in sleeping.
