Keyan Cave

Covering 6.87 sq. km, Keyan Scenic Spot takes the ancient culture of Yue Kingdom as content and the scene of ancient quarry as feature, built in the Han Dynasty, having a history of over 1,800 years. In the Qing Dynasty, there forms the famous "Eight Scenes of Keyan", the superior sight of Shaoxing. Through the ingenious garden-styled building of the modern times, scenic spots of Keyan and Jian Lake come into being, centrally reflecting the cultures of stone, water, wine, personage and religion in Shaoxing. In 2003, people developed the scenic spot of Lu Town according to the description of the work of Lu Xun, representing the scene of the old Shaoxing, including its customs, traditional opera culture and festivals etc. The three scenic spots mentioned above compose the big Keyan Scenic Spot.


Yuanshan Garden: as a magnificent building in style of the Tang Dynasty, it lies at the foot of the mountain and extends zigzag, consisting of gate, Heyuan wall, bell tower, hall of mammon, hall of Maitreya, hall of Buddha, Fingerprint Hill, arhat yard and Longyao Pool. It is a Tang-imitating building of the largest scale in China at present. Its hall of Buddha occupies an area of 1000 sq. m and is 25 m high, originally creating the structure of overlapped eaves, which extend upward for 4 m, seems like eagles expanding their wings to soar and raising their heads in the Ke Hill. In the Arhat Garden, there are 18 stone arhats in size of a normal people, which match the stone culture and are in high scenic value.

Stone Buddha

During the Three Kingdoms Period, it was a quarry. Then, through constantly cutting and excavating, the skillful craftsmen of past dynasties made stone pits, caves and walls of various shapes with their daedal hands. Throughout the ages, through the intervention of religion, embellishment of litterateurs and development of the later generations, lots of sights have come into being, such as Buddha of the Work of Nature, "Lu Zhu Qing Yan", Seven Star Cave, Platform of the Eight Diagrams, Wenchang Pavilion, Silkworm Cave and "Lianhua Ting Ying (means Lotus listening to the music)" etc.

Lu Town

Combining the customs, architecture characteristics and natural landscape of the old county of water, Lu Town is a miniature of Shaoxing of 100 years ago. As a thematic and cultural scenic spot of reproduction, Lu Town is a production of the combination of traditional tourist attraction and the modern idea of theme park. According to the typical environment of Lu Town emerging in the work of Lu Xun repeatedly, the scenic spot combines the traditional culture of Shaoxing and the works of Lu Xun, such as "the True Story of Ah Q", "Blessing", "" and "Bedlamite’s Diary" etc, taking the culture of Yue Kingdom as the base and completely presenting the streets of water and ancient town of Shaoxing. Lu Town contains 5 districts of restaurants, traditional stores, relaxation and exhibition, traditional residence and aquatic visit, which are apart from each other by rivers and connected by bridges, with functions of visiting, restaurant, shopping, accommodation, relaxation and entertainment.?

Jian Lake

Occupying an area of 1.47 sq. m, among which 48.7% is water, the scenic spot has 4 attractions, namely, Flute Pavilion of the Eastern Han Dynasty, Autumn Scenery of the South Seas, Five Bridges of the Moon and Cucurbit Island of Wine. It can not only join with and decorate Keyan Scenic Spot, mountains matching waters, rocks setting off the lake; but also form a beautiful landscape by itself.
