Impression Lijiang Show

Lijiang Impression Show is the highest real landscape performance, reaching an altitude about 3100 meters above sea level, with the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain as the background. It is a cultural show demonstrating the traditions and lifestyles of Naxi, Yi, and Bai minorities in Lijiang.

There are more than 500 amateur performers of 10 minorities from 16 villages and over 100 horses in this show. Their native actions are like the dance with heaven and earth; their unadorned singing voices are just like the voice of nature. The show cleans the souls of every visitor.

Zhang Yimou, the director of Impression Lijiang, has directed cultural shows of Impression Series, other shows of which include Impression Sanjie Liu in Guilin and Impression of West Lake in Hangzhou. Zhang Yimou is a world-famous film director winning a lot of awards and honors.

The Impression Snow Mountain overcomes the disadvantages of the day show. After modification nearly 100 times, directors turn the disadvantages of the day show into advantages. Different from indoor and evening performances that use lighting to enrich the stage, Impression Lijiang draws much of the audiences’ attention to the primitiveness of nature.

The Plotline of the Show

Impression Lijiang show consists of two chapters: Impression Snow Mountain and Impression Ancient City.

The first chapter, Impression Snow Mountain, is a conversation about the mountain. From far and near, people come to Lijiang to experience the close relationship between nature and lives.

The second chapter, Impression Ancient City, is a conversation with ancestors. Through the conversation, people discover that there is a holy kingdom in the inner heart of everyone.

Jade Dragon Snow Mountain

Located 20 kilometers north of Lijiang, Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is a snow-capped mountain. It is renowned for its magnificent natural scenes like its snow cap, meadows, and forest-clap slopes. All of the 13 peaks of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain reach an altitude over 5000 meters and the highest peak reaches an altitude of 5596 meters. There are many popular ski slopes on Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, where skiing is possible all year round.
