Welcome to Vietnam. Meet your guide and driver at the exit of arrival at Hanoi International Airport. Transfer and kick back to your hotel. You can cope with jet lag and refresh after a long flight.

Explore the charming city of Hanoi with its Old Quarter and colonial architecture. Visit the historic Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (close on Monday & Friday), you can enter the mausoleum to view his embalmed body on a glass guarded by soldiers.
Just behind the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is a quaint, tranquil reconstructed Pagoda-One Pillar Pagoda, which also has a small temple behind it.
Next, visit the Temple of Literature, A precious historical relic to learn about the history and culture of Vietnam.
In the afternoon, visit the fascinating Museum of Ethnology (closed on Mondays) which houses an extensive collection of traditional costumes and artifacts. Drive back to central Hanoi for a 1-hour cyclo tour through the Old Quarter.
Watching traditional water puppet performances at the theater, which is uniquely northern Vietnamese art.
Trip note: The Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is closed every Monday & Friday, all afternoons and from September until December.

Take a ride on a long-tail boat through the ancient canals of Thonburi to a royal temple Wat Arun.
Walk across the river and drive to Chinatown for a glance at old Bangkok.

Continue to Wat Suan Dok, many little chedis, and some of them contain the ashes of the former royal family of Chiang Mai.
Drive 30min to Doi Suthep Mountain, and walk up to the top there is a splendid temple with many Buddha statues and cravings. Walk around the top rewarded with a panoramic outlook of the city.
Return to Chiang Mai and enjoy a 20min rickshaw ride to discover the old town before returning to your hotel.
