Hong Kong West Kowloon Railway Station
Hong Kong West Kowloon Station is the only railway station in Hong Kong. It operates under the co-location arrangement, meaning you will need to go through two border checks when entering or leaving. You can travel to Beijing, Shanghai, Guilin, Zhangjiajie, and Chongqing in the Chinese Mainland.

Train Ticket Booking at Hong Kong West Kowloon Railway Station
Method 1: Take your passport and go to the self-service ticket machine on B1 of Hong Kong West Kowloon Railway Station to buy a ticket.

Hong Kong West Kowloon Railway Station Layout
Hong Kong West Kowloon Station has 5 levels: 4 underground levels and 1 ground level. When you take a train from West Kowloon Station to the mainland of China, you will wait for your train on B3. When you travel from the mainland of China to Hong Kong, you will complete your exit procedures on B2. Boarding and alighting both take place on B4.
L1: Sky Corridor, Viewing Platform
L2: Footbridge connecting to MTR Kowloon Station Exit C and Austin Station Exits B4 and D4, West Kowloon Bus Terminal
First Floor: Main station entrance, airport bus, tourism bus, and Green Plaza, with walking access to Austin Station and Kowloon Station
B1: Ticket purchase, ticket collection, ticket check, and security screening before entering the station, taxi drop-off area, and parking lot
B2: Arrivals immigration procedures (complete the mainland of China exit first, then Hong Kong entry), taxi pick-up area, pedestrian tunnel to Kowloon Station and Austin Station concourse, parking lot
B3: Departures immigration procedures (complete Hong Kong exit first, then the mainland of China entry), waiting area, ticket gates, ticket change counter
B4: High-speed train platforms (trains stop here for boarding and alighting)
Co-location Arrangement at Hong Kong West Kowloon Railway Station
Hong Kong West Kowloon Station operates under the co-location arrangement. Whether you are departing from Hong Kong or arriving in Hong Kong, you will need to go through two customs clearances at the railway station: one by Hong Kong customs and the other by the customs of the mainland of china.
The entire border crossing process takes about 40 minutes, but it may take longer during public holidays.

Departure Procedure at Hong Kong West Kowloon Railway Station
Step 1: Use a valid ID (usually your passport) to buy a ticket on Level B1 or through China Train Booking.
Step 2: Arrive at the railway station 2.5 hours before the train departs.
Step 3: Use the same ID you used to buy the ticket to check in. Ticket check closes 30 minutes before departure.
Step 4: Complete luggage and security screening.
Step 5: Take the escalator up to the Departures level (B3).
Step 6: On Level B3, complete Hong Kong exit procedures and go through security.
Step 7: On the same level, complete the mainland of China entry procedures and go through security again.
Step 8: Proceed to the waiting hall and wait for the train to depart.
Step 9: When the gates open 15 minutes before departure, take the escalator down to Level B4.
Step 10: Board the train on Level B4.
Arrival Procedure at Hong Kong West Kowloon Railway Station
Step 1: Get off the train after it stops on Level B4.
Step 2: Take the escalator up to the Arrivals level B2.
Step 3: Complete the mainland of China exit procedures and then Hong Kong entry procedures.
Step 4: Use the same ID you used to buy the ticket to go through the gate and leave the station.

How to Get to Hong Kong West Kowloon Railway Station
You can take a taxi, MTR, or bus to get to Hong Kong West Kowloon Railway Station. But the most recommended option is the private transfer provided by China Travel.

Take a Taxi
Hong Kong has urban taxis, New Territories taxis, and Lantau taxis. Each type of taxi has a different fare, but all charge by the meter. You can wave down a taxi anywhere. Many drivers do not speak English. After you get in, you can show the driver: go to West Kowloon Railway Station.
By MRT
Take the Tuen Ma Line and get off at Austin Station. Take Exit C, then walk 500 meters.
Or take the Tung Chung Line and get off at Kowloon Station. Take Exit C1, then walk 1 kilometer.
By Bus
Take bus numbers 20A, 36B, 42A, 46A, 60X, 63X, 69X, 269X, 79P, 81, 268X, 271, 271B, 271X, W2, or W3. Get off at the West Kowloon Station Bus Terminal.
How to Get to Hong Kong Airport from West Kowloon Railway Station
Take a Taxi: It takes 20 minutes and costs HKD258.
By MRT: Take the Airport Express from Kowloon Station to Airport Station. It takes 50 minutes and costs HKD120.
By Bus: Get on bus A22 or A23 at Austin Road, Jordan Road Station. Go to the airport. It takes 80 to 90 minutes and costs HKD45.
