Changsha to Zhangjiajie High-Speed Train

Changsha usually serves as a transfer city to/from Zhangjiajie. Passengers often have got to Zhangjiajie from Changsha by train or air in the past. Now, there is a more convenient way- a high-speed train, which travels at speeds of up to 250-300 km/hr (155-186 mph) and is a highly recommended way to get from Changsha to Zhangjiajie.

This 199-mile journey can be completed in 3-3.5 hours, saving time and avoiding stress, as you won’t have to arrive at an airport 2 hours in advance or deal with long security lines. The high-speed train makes your trip simple and comfortable.

Getting to and from Zhangjiajie West Railway Station

By Taxi

It is easy and efficient to take a taxi from Zhangjiajie West Railway Station. A 30-minute drive can take you from the station to Wulingyuan, where the national forest park lies. The taxi trip costs about 80 CNY.

By Bus

Four bus lines, line 4/6/16/17, have been opened to link Zhangjiajie West Railway Station with Zhangjiajie Hehua International Airport, Zhangjiajie Railway Station, Zhangjiajie East Coach Station, and Zhangjiajie Railway Station.

Zhangjiajie Railway Station is right next to Zhangjiajie Central Bus Station, from which you can find tourist buses to Zhangjiajie’s major attractions such as the national park and Tianzi Mountain. Tourist buses operate from 7 am and 7 pm. They leave every 30 to 60 minutes and cost about 20 CNY for a single trip.

Getting to Zhangjiajie Forest Park from Zhangjiajie West Railway Station

 

Zhangjiajie National Forest Park

Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, located in Wulingyuan, is 21 kilometers (or 13 miles) from Zhangjiajie West Railway Station. There’s no direct bus running between them.

You can get to Zhangjiajie Railway Station by bus no. 17 or 6 and then walk west for 5minutes to Zhangjiajie Central Bus Station (张家界中心汽车站). From there, take a tourist bus to the national park directly, which takes about 1 hour at a cost of 20 CNY.

If you hate the bother and want to save time, taking a taxi is another option. The journey takes 30 minutes and costs around 80 CNY, heavy traffic is unlikely.

Getting to Tianmen Mountain from Zhangjiajie West Railway Station

 

Tianmen Mountain Cable Car

Zhangjiajie West Railway Station offers no direct bus to any scenic areas. The most recommended way to get to Tianmen Mountain is to firstly take bus no. 4 or 17 to Tianmen Mountain Cableway Station downtown, and then take a cable car to the top of the mountain. You can enjoy the gorgeous views along the 28-minute cable car ride.

Getting to Grand Canyon from Zhangjiajie West Railway Station

 

Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Glass Bridge

Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon is famous for being the world’s longest glass-bottom bridge. Firstly, take bus no. 17 or 6 from Zhangjiajie West Station to Zhangjiajie Railway Station and then walk 5 minutes to Zhangjiajie Central Bus Station. Catch a coach to Jiangya Hot Spring (江垭温泉) and get off at the Grand Canyon midway through the trip.

Finally, you can get to the ticket office of the scenic area by tourist shuttle bus.
