The restaurant is located in Wangfujing Area, close to the Forbidden City. It's on a quiet Hutong away from the main street. Associated with Buddhist organizations, there are regular Buddhist activities in the restaurant. All the workers there believe in Buddhism and are vegetarians as well.

2. King's Joy

Just a stone’s throw from Lamar Temple, King’s Joy is remodeled from a courtyard house and features a glass-roofed dining room. In this high-end vegetarian restaurant, you will have a memorable dining experience with exquisite dishes and enjoy the elegant environment with Michelin-star-level service.

The menu has an extensive variety of food for you to choose from, you will enjoy tasty and creative vegetarian dishes even if you are a meat lover. Though the price is expensive than most vegetarian restaurants, it definitely worth it!

3. Veggie Table

Situated near the Lama Temple, Veggie Table is a vegetarian restaurant that serves primarily western-style fare at a reasonable price. It provides a great range of food, from burgers and pizza to salads and soup. It is a great spot if you're looking for proper Western vegan food in Beijing.

4. Tianchumiaoxiang Vegetarian Restaurant (Chaowai Branch)

Located in the heart of the business district (CBD), Tianchumiaoxiang Restaurant is a paradise for vegans and vegetarians. It provides a great range of food with Chinese traditional vegetarian (vegan) cuisines at a reasonable price, including not only no-frills vegan fare but also traditional type dishes with a modern flare.

5. Baihe Courtyard (Dongzhimen Branch)

Baihe (Lily) Courtyard is a courtyard-style house in a Hutong neighborhood that includes both indoor and outdoor seating. The traditional interior is very cozy, and all the dishes cooked by Buddhist tradition with no animal products of any kind are tasty and they can be made spicy or non-spicy by request.

6. Gongdelin Vegetarian Restaurant

Originally set up in Shanghai in 1922, Gongdelin is a time-honored vegetarian restaurant. Beijing’s Gongdelin is only a 15 minutes walk from the front gate of the Forbidden City.

It offers Buddhist-style vegetarian food, they even have recreated a lot of traditional meat dishes using vegetarian ingredients, particularly tofu. If you are a vegetarian but want to try Peking duck, don’t miss this place. You will be surprised how much the tofu duck looks like an actual Peking duck!

7. Jinglianzhai Vegetarian Restaurant (Hepingli Branch)

Jinglianzhai is called Jingsi Vegetarian Restaurant (静思素食坊) before. It has four branches in Beijing, two of them are located in the suburbs. The decor of Jinglianzhai is clean and fresh with lots of lovely Buddhist artwork. Its famous dishes are Toufu, fungus, and lotus seeds.

8. Pure Lotus

Pure Lotus is a vegan restaurant that does everything meat-flavored, which a vegan can't otherwise taste. The menu has lots of variety, and everything unique. The ambiance is comfortable and pleasant. The staff is friendly and helpful. Although the price is a bit expensive, it worth the experience for gourmet enthusiasts.
