Welcome to the Garden of Eden for Giant Pandas. Our English-speaking guide will be waiting for you at the arrivals hall in the hotel, airport, or railway station. Don’t worry about being late. This is your private tour, and your guide will wait for you until you arrive.

Your guide and an experienced driver will then transfer you to your accommodation near the panda base. It takes about 2.5 hours to drive the 130 kilometers.

During the 3-hour private transfer from Chengdu to Wolong, you can stop by the 2008 Earthquake Memorial Site and have a rest.

Then drive for Dengsheng Gorge hike, 55 km (34 miles) from Gengda Town, it is a real habitat of wild giant pandas. The well-paved hiking trail is 5 km (3 miles) long and it takes about 3–4 hours to hike. Along the trail, the forest and original ecosystem are well preserved. If you are lucky, you may find evidence of wild giant pandas, giant panda feces invariably points in the direction of travel making them easy to track.

Transfer to Wolong Panda Base, settle down in panda hotel inside the park, a special arrangement of panda base night tour provide you a close and private encounter with panda without other tourists and noises. We are the first company to cooperate with the base of the night tour.

Being a panda keeper, you can get to know more about this endangered species, and take care of pandas under the guidance of experienced staff.

At about 8:30, you will arrive at the program center at Wolong Panda Base and sign up. Get your volunteer pass, a working uniform, and gloves. The pandas will be awake at the moment and you will start the Panda Keeper program and learn how to take care of them, with the assistance of your guide.

A professional panda keeper will tell you the relevant procedures. Your guide will be there at all times, to translate for you and to take photos for you, to record your special experience. You will clean the enclosure of the giant pandas and take out the old bamboo under the guidance of a professional panda keeper. Feed the pandas with fresh bamboo, cakes, apples, and carrot.

You earn your lunch by taking care of pandas. Lunch will start around 11:30 at a staff restaurant on the Base. You can prepare food in advance in case you don’t like the food there. After lunch, you can have a short rest in the office, or wander around the base.

The program will recommence in the afternoon at about 13:00. Then you will watch a panda movie, lasting 30 minutes. You will learn how pandas mate, give birth, grow up and train in the wild. Clean the enclosure of the giant pandas and take out the old bamboo that you took there in the morning. Feed the pandas with more fresh bamboo, cakes, apples, and carrots.

After that, you will learn about what ingredients are needed for the cakes for pandas, and how to make the cakes yourself, with the help of the staff. You can make any shape you want. Ingredients will be prepared in advance.

If you take very good care of them, you will receive a panda keeper certificate. Your panda keeper day ends at around 3:30 pm.

You will then drive back to Chengdu and arrive at about 6 pm. If you need to transfer to the airport, just let us know.
