Beijing – Guangzhou Trains vs Flights

Till now, the plane is still the fastest way to travel from Beijing to Guangzhou. The duration of the plane is about 3 hours and 35 minutes. In off seasons, you can search for good discounts on planes and the price may be even lower than that of a high-speed train.

If you’re on a budget, taking a normal-speed train is still the first choice. A hard sleeper on the normal-speed train is only about US$100 but the duration is over 21 hours. You will spend a whole day on the train.

In peak season, the airfare is expensive and you may consider taking an overnight bullet train. The overnight bullet train is faster and much more comfortable than that of the normal-speed train.
