Hong Kong - Guilin High-Speed Train

The high-speed rail from Hong Kong and Guilin was put into operation in Sep 2018, cutting journey time down from 6-7 hours to a mere 4.

There are two pairs of direct high-speed trains G320/G408 and G319/G407 between Guilin West Railway Station and Hong Kong West Kowloon Railway Station. The train takes 4 hours to finish 580 kilometers (360 miles) and the tickets cost ¥363 - ¥1089 per trip. Guilin has also become the only city in Guangxi Province that can seamlessly connect to Hong Kong by high-speed rail.

Payment Method

Online: China Travel accepts payment by PayPal, WeChat, and Alipay, book with 12306, and accept WeChat and Alipay only.

Ticket office:

Purchase high-speed rail tickets at the ticket office in Hong Kong's West Kowloon Railway Station: accept cash (Hong Kong dollars), RMB, Octopus Card, and credit cards, while can pay with WeChat, Alipay, and ApplePay. One person can buy a maximum of 10 tickets at the self-service ticket machine.

Purchase high-speed rail tickets at the ticket office at Guilin West Railway Station. You can pay by cash (RMB), WeChat, Alipay, or Credit Card (Union Pay, Visa, Mastercard).

Children Tickets - Updated on Jan 17, 2023

From January 1, 2023, children under the age of 6 are free of charge. However, one adult can only bring one child for free and does not occupy the seat alone; if traveling with more than one child, the others must buy child ticket(s).

Children aged between 6 and 14 can enjoy a 50% discount on the published ticket price; full-price tickets should be booked for those over 14.

The age of children is calculated according to the date of travel. Purchase the child's ticket with a valid ID card/passport.

Hong Kong West Kowloon High-Speed Train Terminus

The Hong Kong West Kowloon Station is the only high-speed train terminus connecting Hong Kong and the Mainland. It is located between the Kowloon MTR Station and the Austin MTR Station in Kowloon Culture District and covers an area of 11 hectares.

There are four below-ground floors in the station, of which the first floor B1 is the ticket hall, the second floor B2 is the arrival hall, the third floor B3 is the departure hall, where Mainland Port Area, Hong Kong Port Area, immigration, customs are all located at this floor, and the fourth floor B4 is the train platform.

How to Get to Hong Kong West Kowloon High-Speed Train Station

From/to the City

There are two subway lines stop at the Hong Kong West Kowloon High-Speed Rail Station: Austin Station (柯士甸) on the MTR West Rail Line, Kowloon Station (九龙站) on the Tung Chung Line / Airport Express Line.

From Austin MTR Station: 5-minute walk through the overhead bridge or pedestrian tunnel to West Kowloon Station.

Kowloon MTR Station: 10-minute walk through the overhead bridge or pedestrian tunnel to West Kowloon Station.

From/to Hong Kong Airport

Travelers coming from Hong Kong International Airport can take the Airport Express Shuttle Bus, which operates from 6:15 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., to Kowloon West Railway Station.

Taxi

Passengers can also get to West Kowloon Station by taxi and get off at the underground B1 level. The Taxi fares are calculated by meters.

Leaving/Arriving at Hong Kong West Kowloon Station

The West Kowloon Terminal implements "Two Inspections at One Place", which means the entry and exit procedures of the Mainland and Hong Kong can be completed at the Hong Kong West Kowloon Terminal.

If your trip starts from Guilin, you only need to prepare e-tickets and passports to check in in five minutes!

It is recommended to arrive at the West Kowloon Station at least 45 minutes before the train departure.

Guilin West High-Speed Train Terminus

You can take the train from HK West Kowloon Station directly to Guilin West Railway Station; it takes just over three hours. 

Guilin West Railway Station is mainly the transport hub of the Guiyang-Guangzhou/Shenzhen HSR bullet trains. Guilin West Railway Station has 4 self-service ticketing machines. On the way, you can see the changing landscape and the mountains in the Guilin section.

2. From Guilin Liangjiang International Airport

By Taxi: Passengers can also get to Guilin West Station by taxi, and the fares are calculated using meters.

3. From South Railway Station

Take bus No. 22, No. 22 to Guilin West Railway Station (1 hour, 9 miles), bus ticket 2 yuan/person.

4. From North Railway Station

Take bus No. 303 to Guilin West Railway Station (30 minutes, 5.7 miles); The bus ticket is 2 yuan/person.

Transit From Guangzhou/Shenzhen to Hong Kong

Apart from traveling straight to Hong Kong, passengers are also expected to get to Hong Kong by transferring to Guangzhou or Shenzhen. Compared with direct trains, the transitway from Guangzhou or Shenzhen has more options.
