Huangshan City is in East China. It is very convenient to visit and connect it with other popular tourist destinations by train, flight, or bus.  

Huangshan City is famed for its Huangshan Scenic Area - a UNESCO World Natural and Cultural Heritage site, and the historic villages of Xidi and Hongcun - World Cultural Heritage sites in Southern Anhui, attract numerous tourists each year.

Huangshan Air Transport

The airport in Huangshan City is called Huangshan Tunxi International Airport(黄山屯溪国际机场), which is located in the Tunxi District of Huangshan City. As one of the most important tourist destinations in China, Huangshan City enjoys excellent transportation accessibility. Domestically, it has flights to Hefei, Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Guangzhou, Xi'an, Xiamen, Chongqing, Chengdu, Taipei, Shenyang, Nanning, Haikou, and more. Internationally, it offers routes to Seoul-Incheon among others.

Huangshan Tunxi International Airport is very close to the city of Huangshan, only about 5.5 kilometers away.

How to Get to Yellow Mountain from Huangshan Tunxi International Airport

There is no direct public transportation from Huangshan Tunxi International Airport to Huangshan. You can take a taxi from the airport to get there, which takes about 1 hour. 

If you want to save money, you can take the No.19 bus from the airport, get off at the Huangshan Bus Station, and then catch the shuttle bus to the Huangshan Scenic Area. 

From Huangshan Tunxi International Airport to Hongcun Village, Xidi Village

You can take a taxi from the airport to get there, which should take about half an hour. Alternatively, you can take the No.19 bus from the airport to Huangshan Bus Station, and then take a shuttle bus to Hongcun and Xidi villages.

Huangshan Train Transport

Huangshan has two train stations, namely the Huangshan Railway Station and the Huangshan North Railway Station. Huangshan Station is the old railway station, and Huangshan North Station is the high-speed railway station. 

Huangshan North Railway Station

Huangshan North Station is the high-speed railway station of Huangshan, with high-speed trains to and from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Fuzhou, Xiamen, and other places. Located in the Economic and Technological Development Zone of Huangshan City, it is 42 kilometers from the Huangshan Scenic Area and 18 kilometers from Huangshan Tunxi International Airport. 

Nowadays, it's very convenient to travel to Huangshan and other surrounding attractions by high-speed train. Across the exit of Huangshan North Station is the bus station for various tourist attractions. 

How to Get to Yellow Mountain from Huangshan North Railway Station

1. Tourist bus: There are about 10 tourist buses from Huangshan North Railway Station to major scenic spots in Huangshan. It takes about an hour by bus to the Yellow Mountain Scenic Area.

2. Cableway tourist line (highly recommended): There are buses from Huangshan North Railway Station to Cloud Valley Temple (Yungu Si, 云谷寺) in the Yellow Mountain Scenic Area, where you can take a cable car directly to the top of the mountain.

3. Taxi: About 200 CNY for one way.

How to Get to Other Scenic Areas from Huangshan North Railway Station

It takes about half an hour to get to Qiyun Mountain, about an hour to Xidi Hongcun, and about 40 minutes to Shexian Ancient City.

Huangshan Railway Station

Huangshan Railway Station is the old Huangshan city station for ordinary trains, with departures to destinations such as Hefei, Shanghai, Beijing, and Nanjing. Huangshan Railway Station is very close to the city center, and only 3 kilometers from Tunxi Old Street. 

How to Get to Other Scenic Areas from Huangshan North 

It is very convenient to get from Huangshan Railway Station to Huangshan Scenic Area. You can take a direct bus to Huangshan Scenic Area from the station parking lot, namely the "Tunxi-Tangkou" or "Tunxi-Taiping" buses (get off at Tangkou in the middle). Buses run from 5:30 to 17:30, every 30 minutes, and cost about 20 yuan. After reaching Tangkou, you can switch to the "Xinguo Line" bus in the Scenic Area Transfer Center to go uphill.

Huangshan Bus Transport

When traveling to Huangshan, it's essential to know two bus stations: one is the Huangshan City Bus Terminal located in Huangshan's city area, and the other is Tangkou Bus Station at the foot of the Huangshan Scenic Area.

Huangshan City Bus Terminal

The Huangshan City Bus Terminal, also known as Tunxi Bus Station, is located in Huangshan City and is very close to Huangshan Train Station. Buses from all over the country that go to Huangshan often stop here. There are frequent buses departing to the Huangshan Scenic Area. Additionally, there are shuttle buses to nearby attractions like Qiyun Mountain, Xidi, and Hongcun. 

Tangkou Bus Station

Tangkou Bus Station is situated at the foot of Huangshan, specifically at the Tangkou Zhaixi Xinguo Transfer Center. After arriving at this station, visitors need to take a scenic area bus (Xinguo Line) or taxi from the main entrance to go up the mountain. The bus fare is 10 yuan and goes directly to the cable car entrance.
