In February, the weather in Northeast China is frigid overall, and everything is icy cold everywhere. Don't expose your body parts outside for a long time, or you'll feel severe pain, especially in your fingers and ears.
When the ice and snow haven't melted yet, if you go to the banks of the Songhua River, you can see large expanses of white rime. Rime is an opaque layer of ice hanging on tree branches. Being in it is like stepping into an ice and snow kingdom.

How to keep warm in Northeast China in February
You need to wear high-top, waterproof, and slip-resistant snow boots. This way, snow won't get into your shoes, and they can also keep you warm and prevent slipping. Put on a thickened hat, earmuffs that can cover your ears, a thick scarf, and touch-screen gloves to protect your head, neck, and hands well.
Bring along hand warmers. They can be stuck on your body to warm key parts and also keep electronic devices like your phone warm. Prepare a well-insulated cup so you can drink hot water to warm yourself up anytime. Also, bring skin care products like lip balm, hand cream, and moisturizing face cream to prevent your skin from getting dry and cracked due to the cold.

In February, it's generally very cold in northern China, but it's a bit warmer than in Northeast China. You don't need to wear thick clothes, but a windproof jacket.

China Weather in February in Southern Regions
Most places in the South are quite warm, with only northern Guangxi being relatively cold. In those warm southern cities, you can wear autumn or even summer clothes, but you still need to wear winter clothes in Guilin.

What to Wear in the South Part of China
In northern Guangxi, wear a fleece-lined sweatshirt, a down jacket, and a pair of cotton-padded trousers. In other areas of Guangxi, swap the down jacket for a vest or fleece jacket.
In Guangdong, a long-sleeved shirt, a thin jacket, and a pair of jeans will do.
In Hainan, you can wear shorts and a short-sleeved shirt. Add a shirt in the evening when it gets a bit cooler.

Xishuangbanna is in the tropical zone, and its temperature is more comfortable. You mainly wear summer or autumn clothes. In other places, it's cold, and you need to wear winter clothes.

What to Wear in the Southwest Part of China
In Xishuangbanna, you can wear short-sleeved shirts. When it's cool in the morning and evening, you can just put on a long-sleeved shirt and casual pants.
In other places, you need to wear thermal underwear, sweatshirts, down vests, and short down jackets. For pants, wear a pair of cotton pants, and when going to Tibet, wear an extra pair of thermal pants.
If you're going to high-altitude areas like Shangri-La, Jiuzhaigou, and Lhasa, you should also wear a hat and a pair of gloves.

Beijing

You can watch performances imitating the Qing Dynasty's earth-worship ceremony, enjoy folk flower shows, stroll through stalls selling intangible cultural heritage handicrafts, and taste snacks from time-honored brands.

In late February, Luoping is like a gigantic natural garden! Almost 66,667 hectares of rape flowers bloom together, and the Jiulong Waterfalls are surrounded by a golden sea of flowers. Every photo you take looks like a blockbuster.
An annual Rape Flower Festival is held here, where you can watch Buyi ethnic people singing antiphonal songs and celebrating the Water-Splashing Festival. You can also take a little train through the flower fields and taste local specialties!
How to Get to Luoping: Taking a train from Kunming Railway Station to Luoping Railway Station takes 4 hours. The price for a hard seat is USD5/CNY 37.5.
Then, it takes about 10 minutes to take a taxi from the train station to the rape flower sea, costing CNY 10.
